Kosice–Bratislava 1,520-gauge railway can cost 6.4 bln euros
MOSCOW, Nov 16 (PRIME) – Construction by Russia, Ukraine, Slokakia, Austria of a 1,520 gauge railway from Kosice to Bratislava is to cost about 6.4 billion euros, Breitspur Planungsgesellschaft said in a statement on Friday.
As the European railway gauge measures 1,435 millimeters and the Russian railway 1,520 millimeters, the railway project is meant to accelerate cargo transit from Asia to Europe to 15 days.
Breitspur Planungsgesellschaft, a joint venture of Russian Railways and Austrian railways, said that construction will take about eight years.
